The quest for sonic perfection is an ongoing thing. You could literally spend thousands dollars in improving the various components in your setup, only to have the sound of your speakers ultimately compromised by simple physical factors such as resonance and other sympathetic anomalies.

Much detail and energy is diffused and robbed from your speakers due to physical contact with resonant elements such as desks, shelves etc. Additional problems arise from sympathetic resonances from objects in physical contact with the speaker system, adding unwanted overtones and other false colourations to the sound. “Speaker Pads” dramatically reduce these problems and can therefore improve the sound of almost any system, especially the stereo imaging and the bass response – simply and affordably!

Main Features:
  • High density acoustic foam cell structure
  • Isolates speakers from resonant elements, such as desks, shelves, floor boards etc
  • 2 x pads in a pack
  • Each pad is cut with a foam “wedge” for optimising speaker angle (see pictures)
  • Fire resistant, UV and anti-mould treated
  • Made in Australia

Additional Information:
Wave Panels Speaker Pads perform just like a cushion that helps eliminate possible audio resonance issues. They function superbly by “decoupling” or placing a buffer zone between your monitor speakers and the surface they are housed on. By doing this, there is an instant and dramatic improvement to the tonality, imaging and “tightness” of the sound.

Speaker Pads free up your monitoring speakers and allow them to perform at their best. They will work wonders with professional Studio Monitors, sub-woofers, Hi-Fi, and even cheaper computer speaker systems.

Technical Specifications:
Dimensions:
  • D:330mm (base) x W:150mm x H:50mm

Includes pair of monitor pads.

Wave Frames are a clever combination of elements brought together to make a simple and attractive looking solution to acoustic control.

By using sculpted acoustic foam for immediate midrange and treble absorption, a limp-mass resonator is added to act on the lower frequencies. Both elements are then suspended inside an attractive looking frame that can be hung like a picture.

This suspended type of mounting allows for an air gap between the resonator, foam and the wall. This gap allows any sound energy passing through the resonator to effectively become phase reversed. So that by the time the sound is then reflected back off the wall, the colliding waveforms will become attenuated or even cancelled entirely.

In addition, the acoustic foam can be flocked in a range of attractive colors. Flocking is essentially a coating of tiny nylon fibres that gives the tile an upholstered velvet like finish.

Main Features:
  • Tighter, more controlled bass response
  • Improved sonic definition and channel separation
  • Clear dialog and musical detail
  • Attenuation of ambient noise and room reverberation
  • Helps control room resonance, 'slap' and 'flutter' echo
  • Simple installation
  • Highly fire retardant. (Complies with the Australian standard: AS/NZS 4088.1 and British Standard Two 5852 with source 2 ignition)
  • UV filter. Helps minimize color fading

Additional Information:
Polyurethane foam has for many years been a popular and cost effective way in treating the acoustics of a room. It is typically applied directly onto to the wall or ceiling where it will reduce reverberation, flutter echoes and reflections. But as any acoustician will tell you, in most cases, this is only a partial solution. The greatest challenge is bringing the bass region to heel.

To accurately judge how much real bass is actually in the equation during recording or mixdown, is what can screw up a mixdown pretty quickly. And while applying 1 inch polyurethane foam flat to the walls will help with some of the imaging and reverberation, it won’t do much for getting the bass right.

An old trick employed by acousticians has been to leave an air gap between the acoustic material and the wall. Whatever remaining wave energy passes through the trap the first time around will reflect off the wall and be dealt with a second time. An air gap of only an inch or so can dramatically increase the trap’s efficiency.

In technical terms, it means you are widening the trap’s Q and increasing its absorption coefficient. In other words, widening the traps effective frequency range and generally soaking up more sound.

And it doesn’t stop there. To further improve on these factors, the foam tiles can be glued onto a limp-mass resonator and then applied using the same air-gap method. A limp-mass resonator is essentially a diaphragm that is light enough to be excited by sound waves, dense enough to attenuate the energy and all without generating a sound of its own. Using this formula, an even wider spectrum of sound is absorbed and whatever sound does pass through to reflect off the wall or ceiling becomes phase reversed. As anyone with a basic understanding of physics will know, when a sound wave is confronted by an identical sound wave of opposite polarity, it cancels itself out. The result then is superb sound absorption with a wide Q. Your loudspeakers will sound like you’ve never heard them before.

Using these basic concepts, we’ve created an acoustic trap that not only has an extremely wide Q with an impressive absorption coefficient, but is also visually striking to look at.

Technical Specifications:

The bass region is usually the most difficult to rectify and bring under control. The lower the frequency, the physically longer it’s wavelength and the more mass is required to influence its behavior.

The BT (or WPBT-1) is a cost-effective and simple way to solve many of these problems. And although the WPBT-1 is a superb low frequency trap, it’s by no means confined to the bass region alone. It’s extraordinarily deep corrugations also act as veritable sonic ‘black holes’ for room reverberation and other related anomalies, across virtually the entire frequency spectrum. Thus, the WPBT-1 could really be referred to as a ‘broadband’ trap.

Main Features:
  • Fix your room acoustics simply and affordably
  • Dramatically reduces room reverberation, echoes, and excess bass boom
  • Reduces general room noise levels from internal and external sources
  • Broad bandwidth sound absorption. Helps smooth out resonant waveform peaks across the entire frequency spectrum
  • Treats a wide range of room sizes
  • Simple installation
  • Highly fire retardant. (Complies with the Australian standard: AS/NZS 4088.1 and British Standard Two 5852 with source 2 ignition)
  • UV filter. Helps minimize color fading

Additional Information:
The WPBT-1’s help rooms that suffer from severe low frequency and reverberation problems. Larger spaces like halls, churches, and even larger cinema rooms can be helped with the addition of a few simple Bass Traps.

The WPBT-1's are also extremely effective in helping reduce general noise levels that can arise from machinery in larger manufacturing installation environments.

Technical Specifications:
Dimensions:
  • 600mm x 600mm x 300mm

Bass notes tend to congregate in room corners. These merging sound waves result in resonances, or sound “nodes” that can wreak havoc with the perceived bass response, making some notes appear louder than others. This not only makes judging the true bass response extremely difficult, but also contributes greatly to the amount of sound perceived outside the listening environment.

The Wave Panels CR's (or WPCR2) ‘Corner Traps' go a long way to smooth out excessive low frequency energy before it builds up to excessive levels.

Main Features:
  • Fix your room acoustics simply and affordably
  • High density acoustic foam cell structure
  • Helps clean and smooth out the low frequency region
  • Broad bandwidth absorption
  • Treats a wide range of room sizes
  • Simple installation
  • Highly fire retardant. (Complies with the Australian standard: AS/NZS 4088.1 and British Standard Two 5852 with source 2 ignition)
  • UV filter. Helps minimize color fading
  • Made with "Ultra-Fresh", anti-fungal & anti-bacterial agent, for a healthier working environment ->see: www.ultra-fresh.com
  • 2 x units in each pack
  • Flocking options available in a wide variety of colors (Durable velvet like nylon fibre coating) POA
  • Made in Australia

Additional Information:
The face of the Corner Traps is symmetrically patterned “left to right” so as to minimize waste where cutting is necessary.

The Corner Traps specifically works by controlling low frequency waveform problems and by offering substantial general full-range broad bandwidth absorption across all listening environments.
