Native Instruments has announced Traktor Pro and Traktor Scratch Pro, the next versions of its digital DJ solutions with MIDI and time-code control. Traktor Pro touts four full-featured decks, extensive sound shaping and MIDI control options.

The new Traktor Scratch Pro combines the full-featured Traktor Pro software with the Audio 8 DJ interface and a set of high-resolution time-code records and CDs for responsive hands-on control through turntables and CD decks. Traktor Pro introduces a new graphical user interface that includes a completely scalable screen layout and cover artwork support including the Crate Flick” feature that allows DJs to visually browse their music library.

There are also advanced syncing functions in Traktor Pro. Precise beat grids are now created automatically for all tracks, and the “Sync Lock” function is designed to ensure that even multiple decks and tempo-synced effects never drift out of sync. New “quantized navigation” also allows DJs to jump between loops, cue points or any other part of a track without missing a beat.

Traktor Pro also sports a performance effects section. Two separate multi-effect units offer more than 20 studio-quality algorithms, from a full range of standard DJ effects to a selection of unusual effect types like Mulholland Drive, Iceverb and Reverse Grain. Traktor Scratch Duo is an excellent full featured digital DJ solution. With Traktor Scratch Duo, you basically get all the essential features of Traktor Scratch Pro at a very affordable price. The main difference is the Audio 4 interface instead of an Audio 8, 2 deck control on Traktor Duo instead of 4 decks on Traktor Pro, and the lack of internal recording (but you can still record to an external source). All in all it is still a very complete and profesional digital DJ solution at a great price. Recommended.

Rock solid Interface

The multi-purpose compact U46MK2 is all you need to DJ. 2 Line/phono inputs with Pre amp enable the connection of the decks. One MIC input with +48V Phantom Power and gain control is available for microphone recording. The 2 outputs will be connected to your channel mixer. A third one could be used for a sampler.

Playback modes:

Spinning record could be done with 2 kinds of modes. The absolute mode plays your media files just like a normal vinyl record. Moving the needle over the vinyl will follow the mp3 songs loaded in your software player. The relative mode allows you to loop your vinyl, and move forward and backward the loops with the needle. The third mode is Flexible mode and moving the needle over the vinyl will have no effect on the track position. This mode is recommended for fast scratch and avoids skips.

Control Vinyl record:

MixVibes control vinyl record are designed to be tough and precise. They include a high frequency timecode allowing the best control of the track position and detect every movement you will do. This ultra-accurate time code record weight 124 g and is one-minute split. Switching on DVS software on Master Tempo mode enable you to mix and scratch in master tempo mode.

Control CD for CD players:

MixVibes’ high definition CD reacts just like a normal CD on a generic CD player. Its time code was especially developed aside the one of our digital vinyl for the best performances (definition of less than 3 ms). This special timecode provide precise hot cues and very short loops.
