KRK

The KRK RP8G2 Rokit G2 Powered Studio Monitor gives you amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio.

All of the great stuff that Rokit’s have been known for including front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone are still there, but the G2 Rokit’s feature refined voicing and a new curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy.

KRK RP8G2 Rokit G2 Features

  • Radically curved front plate design virtually eliminates diffraction distortion
  • Waveguide design provides amazing detail and imaging
  • Front-firing port provides low freq extension without boundary coupling
  • New speaker voicing for even more accurate frequency response
  • 1-inch Neodymium soft dome tweeter
  • Glass Aramid Composite Cone Woofer

Even More Accurate Than Before
KRK engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 Rokits’ speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRK's world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.

The Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to their award winning performance.

Stop putting up and pick up an ERGO™

A great mix starts with a great recording room. But when it comes to achieving the most accurate mix, your room may have the upper hand. Like any room, your studio’s acoustics include offending frequencies and room reflections, and none of these are helping your mix. Getting a handle on these problems has traditionally meant the installation of soft foam or fabrics, and that’s a great start. But now you can get even closer to a perfect room, and a perfect mix, because the future of studio sound is here, and it’s called ERGO.

Large Volume Knob
Ultra-Smooth response volume control simultaneous control of ERGO's A/B/Sub outputs.

"A" Speakers
Enables or disables the audio being sent to the "A" speakers.

"B" speakers
Enables or disables the audio being sent to the "B" or subwoofer speakers.

Room Correction
Turns room correction processing on or off.

Focus/Global
Our 3D model allows users to preserve the "good" features of the room, while correcting the bad. ERGO also doesn't color the sound or produce an artificial anechoic environment. Normally, ERGO corrects for your monitoring position. This gives you perfectly corrected sound while mixing. In Global mode, the correct spot is widened so that others (products, musicians, groupies) can enjoy your mix in a corrected environment.

Headphone Volume (side panel)
Adjusts the output level of the headphone jack. The headphones have their own independent audio stream, or can mirror the A stream.

Calibration Switch (back panel)
This enables the room calibration microphone and places ERGO into analysis mode.

Hear the difference
KRK, long known for highly accurate studio monitors brings you ERGO (Enhanced Room Geometry Optimization). ERGO is for the recording engineer, DJ, or musician that monitors in less-than-perfect acoustic conditions - isn't that most of us? ERGO is a digital room analysis/correction system designed to measure and analyze phase/frequency problems within a listening environment. The powerful digital signal processor in the ERGO unit processes audio to correct for the offending issues. So, you can stop worrying about your studio's acoustics and start focusing on your mix!

ERGO's high-end sound quality makes it perfect for the discriminating audio professional, while the affordable price puts it within reach of the typical recording hobbyist. Every studio needs an ERGO, because even the most accurate monitor in an imperfect room isn't going to solve mixing problems, but ERGO will. ERGO also makes your mix translate from the studio to different environments. How good is a great rack that only sounds great in your room? With ERGO, your mix sounds great everywhere you, or your fans want to hear it. Want better sound, and in more places? Put ERGO in the mix.

ERGO is a digital room analysis/correction system and consists of the ERGO unit, a microphone, and control software. These three pieces are used to measure and analyze phase/frequence problems within a listening environment.

Smarter than your average gear
Room correction products aren’t new, but thank goodness ERGO is. While conventional room correction systems utilize simple analysis and limited bands of EQ (often fewer than 8), ERGO uses multiple measurements and proprietary algorithms to create a 3D image of the room, and then applies 1024 dynamic filters to control the audio environment. Our 3D model allows users to preserve the “good” characteristics of the room, while correcting the bad... ERGO doesn’t color the sound or produce an artificially sterile environment. ERGO produces the best mix for a given room; a mix that will translate better to other listening environments, since it was mixed in a “perfect” room.

Room perfect technology
The sophisticated room analysis and correction system within ERGO, called “RoomPerfect” was developed by Lyngdorf Audio in Denmark aftTer many years of R&D work. The patented algorithm in the system compares many measurements and corrects for phase and frequency problems using thousands of filters, not just a few. The result is the most accurate mix. ERGO, analyze this!

Lyngdorf Audio utilizes some of the best audio engineers in the world to develop superior technology. Lyngdorf Audio is the industry leader and cutting-edge digital audio company and we are proud to exclusively license their technology.

2-Way Active Ribbon Studio Reference Monitor with Kevlar Woofer

ntroducing the TRUTH B3031A Reference Monitor from BEHRINGER

Admittedly, our TRUTH monitors never sounded “hyped” or “enhanced.” When our engineers designed the TRUTH series of monitors, they only had one goal in mind: to create the most accurate and honest monitors so you could hear and feel exactly what you’ve recorded.

For the past two years our acoustic engineers have worked hard on improving the TRUTH B2031A which has become industry standard. They insisted on using the best materials and technology such as ultra-high resolution, 2" velocity ribbon transducers, long-throw woofers with Kevlar cones and deformation-resistant aluminum die-cast chassis.

Our engineers also integrated 225-Watt bi-amped technology so the B3031A could boast enormous power reserves when driven hard. To guarantee an ultra-linear frequencyresponse, each monitor is hand-aligned and comes with an individual frequency diagram.

But how do they sound? Just listen!

The Post-Production and Surround Studio Standard.

With more and more recording studios mixing to 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, the need arose for a studio monitor that could handle some serious multi-tasking. Say hello to the Mackie HR626 — a THX-approved, 2-way Active reference monitor that provides the same accuracy of Mackie's HR824. When placed vertically, the HR626 has the same great sound and similar frequency response as our legendary HR824, with a smaller footprint. Also, due to its symmetrical left-right sound field, the Mackie HR626 is perfect as a center channel monitor for surround sound mixing or for high-end home theater applications.

With extremely even dispersion for a wide "sweet spot" and user-adjustable controls for a variety of acoustic spaces, the HR626 is found in hundreds of professional studios and in the home studios of top recording artists (see list at left).

D'APPOLITO DESIGN?
Some years ago, renowned audio engineer Joe D'Appolito started placing a single woofer on each side of the HF transducer, and using a third-order (or higher) crossover in his designs. The end result — proper phase control of the loudspeaker and the low frequency response was extended. We decided to use Joe's design principles for one simple reason—they work! That's why the Mackie HR626 has a 6.7" woofer on each end of the cabinet with a waveguide-loaded dome tweeter stuck right the center. The HR626 is the first Mackie Active studio monitor to incorporate D’Appolito design.

MACKIE ACTIVE DESIGN
The 100- and 40-watt FR (Fast Recovery) Series amplifiers inside the HR626 are clean, ultra-reliable — and most importantly, were specifically designed for these drivers. Our amps can drive these custom-tailored transducers to their limits without pushing them over the edge. Add to this our phase- and time-correction crossover and you’ve got one excellent sounding Active monitor. Frequency response is verifiably "ruler-flat" from 42Hz to 20kHz, with a 3dB down point at 40Hz. The Mackie HR626 is ideal for those who need lots of bottom-end and high-resolution midrange for mixing and vocal placement. Read more.

THUMPIN' BASS
Ask any bass player and they will tell you that smaller speakers respond to transient attacks much more quickly than their huge counterparts. (As long as they are designed to handle bass frequencies, that is.) That having been said, instead of using a single large woofer in the HR626, we chose to use two of our powerhouse 6.7" transducers (the same ones used in the HR624). Not only does this help the HR626 meet the D'Appolito design concept, dual LF drivers also move a larger column of air. Add to this our mass-loaded, rear-firing passive radiator and you've got extended low-end that just won't quit.

WAVEGUIDE-LOADED TWEETER
That unusual looking tweeter is actually our waveguide-mounted 1" aluminum dome HF transducer. (Try to say that five times fast.) The logarithmic waveguide works with the tweeter to ensure accurate, even dispersion of the high-frequency content, creating a much wider "sweet spot" than offered by most studio monitors. And Mackie HR626s won’t tire you out, even after hours of tracking and mixing.

MORE CONTROLS = MORE OPTIONS

On the rear panel of the HR626 you'll find some very useful controls:
Acoustic Space Control
Ideally, your monitor speakers should be placed well away from wall surfaces. But this isn't always easy in small project studios and video post suites. The HR626 has a 3-position switch that can be set for full space (way out from the walls), half-space (against a back wall), or quarter space (in a corner). The Acoustic Space Control, for accurate bass in a small control room.
LF Roll-Off
The HR626 plays considerably lower than most home stereo speakers can go. So we provided you with an 80Hz Roll-Off switch to temporarily disable extremely low bass when mixing for AM radios, boom boxes, and old people who rarely attend raves.
High Frequency
Although we expect that you have acoustic treatment in your control room (egg crates, wall carpets with dogs playing cards, etc.), there may be times you might be using the HR626 in larger, more live spaces such as a conference room. For these occasions, we've included a high frequency shelving control that reduces frequencies above 10kHz by 2dB. Conversely, in rooms where high frequency content is easily absorbed, a 2dB boost is available.

VERSATILITY
The Mackie HR624 is the ideal speaker for home project studios, smaller recording facilities, or anyplace where space is at a premium. And if you want even more bass, the HR626 was designed to work perfectly with the Mackie HRS120 Active Subwoofer system. For an outstanding home theater experience, combine an HR626 (center channel), a pair of HR624s (rear R/L), two of our HR824s (front R/L), and an HRS120 Active Subwoofer. Prepare to be blown away by your favorite movie without your feet sticking to the floor.

VALUE OVER PASSIVE SYSTEMS
Although HR626s deliver unparalleled performance, they aren't nearly as expensive as some of those "prima donna" studio monitors out there. Thanks to our advanced manufacturing techniques, Mackie HR626s deliver "high-end" performance without the high-end price tag. And when you compare them to passive monitors (requiring external power amplifiers, crossovers, and equalization), HR626s stand out as an exceptional value. Bring your favorite CD* to a nearby dealer and compare them side-by-side with the competition.

* Please, no iPods. We love 'em too, but compressed music files aren't going to give you an accurate read on the bottom-end these monitors can deliver.

Passive but Bold!
The R6 is the passive version of the industry standard Generation 2 RoKit Studio Monitor Series from KRK Systems. For years, the RoKit series has been a popular choice for accurate monitoring in studios large and small. Now, the R6 provides a new standard in passive monitoring with better performance and accuracy, raising the bar once again. Considering KRK has always been the standard, this is a lofty claim. But with the R6, you will hear the truth.

Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead
Our R6 has radically curved surfaces for a reason: it sounds better. Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the sound field causing phase distortion. The R6 virtually eliminates diffraction and provides a wider sweet spot because of its radically engineered curved surfaces.

Let's Be Up Front
Take a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners, amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The superior design of the KRK R6 includes front-firing ports, which are just the right shape to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance this approach delivers, even at high SPLs.

Even More Accurate Than Before
We took a great monitor series and made it better. Our engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 RoKit's speaker voicing to even greater levels of accuracy. With the R6 what you hear is what you need to hear, without coloration or artificial emphasis. This performance is delivered by drivers that are custom-designed by our world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.

Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix
Our recessed tweeters may look the same as others, but they don't perform the same. Our careful design of dome and waveguide geometry coupled to the curved front baffle are optimized for on and off-axis linearity resulting in excellent imaging and a wider sweet spot.

Team the R6 up with your favorite power amplifier and enjoy clarity and accuracy in your project, home or professional studio. The R6 is also perfect for home theater, audiophile or other critical listening applications where pure and detailed audio reproduction is desired.

When it comes to your studio recordings, you want honesty. In fact, considering how important your art is, you should demand it! That’s why we designed the new B1030A Reference Monitors to speak nothing but the TRUTH. Oh, they still sound great hooked up to your stereo or your video surround system, but they were really built with the studio in mind — where every note you play or sing is “under the microscope.”

Built on a Legacy

Our TRUTH B2030A and B2031A monitors have been so wildly successful that we’ve sold thousands upon thousands of them to some of the most critical ears on the planet — ears that demand the neutral sound of a true reference monitor. Ask any recording engineer and they will tell you that listening to a recording on just a single set of monitors doesn’t always paint an accurate picture of the mix. Since people listen to music at home, in their cars, on mp3 players, etc., it is critical your final mix be heard on as many sizes and types of speakers as possible. That’s the reason we created these smaller B1030A monitors, plus they make ideal rear channel speakers for surround sound applications.

Years of R’n’D

For the past two years our Research and Development team has been on a mission to create the “perfect” studio monitor. Since the TRUTH B2031A had already become the industry standard, our acoustic engineers decided to start there and see just how far they could push the envelope. They tried a variety of transducers and enclosure designs, along with existing and emerging technologies. When all the dust settled, they chose to deploy an ultra-high resolution 1" dome tweeter and a long-throw 5.25" Kevlar-coned woofer in the B1030A.

Why Kevlar?

We’re glad you asked. Kevlar has an incredible strength-to-weight ratio — that’s one reason it’s used in bulletproof vests. Kevlar gives our LF transducer the strength to handle the extremely high energy levels required for distortion-free, chest-pounding bass. And since they have such low mass, Kevlar speaker cones also respond much more quickly than those made of paper, important for not only maintaining bass content integrity, but critical for midrange accuracy and definition. Our Kevlar transducers reproduce even the subtlest nuance of the low-frequency realm without muddying the midrange.

Power to the People

It takes quite a bit more than just a “bulletproof” woofer and a high-tech tweeter stuck inside a fancy box to make a studio monitor of this class. It also takes power — and lots of it! But even more importantly, that power has to be matched to the individual high- and low-frequency transducers. While some of our competitors are content to stick whatever speakers they have on the shelf into haphazardly designed boxes and then strap on a one-size fits-all amplifier package, we build every single component from the ground up. We pack 75-Watts of bi-amped technology (including a time- and phase-corrected active crossover) into every B1030A, ensuring that you have the enormous power reserves you’ll need to drive them really hard.

Designed to Work in Your Environment

The ideal environment for listening is a room that is “flat,” neither too reflective (echoes) nor too absorptive (where the sound is muffled). But since all rooms are not the same acoustically, all TRUTH monitors come equipped to function in a wide variety of situations. Switches are provided to adapt the monitor’s low- and high-frequency characteristics for optimal performance specific to your listening environment.
Placement is also critical. Ideally, all loudspeakers should be placed away from walls to ensure proper bass response. But fear not, B1030A monitors feature Room Compensation switches so you can place them against walls, or even in corners. Walls tend to enhance low frequency content, and corners exaggerate bass even more, but your TRUTH monitor can be custom-tailored to provide honest bass response for your situation, with the simple flick of a switch or two.

Non-fatiguing, Wide “Sweet Spot”

While some of our competitors’ studio monitors have a highly focused “sweet spot” (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), our wave-guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you won’t wear a hole in the carpet in that one spot where everything sounds great. You are free to move around inside the stereo image to find the ideal spot in the mix for subtle instrument or effects placement opportunities.
You also won’t suffer the ravages of “monitor-fatigue-syndrome,” an ailment that comes from listening to harsh high-mids and treble content for hours on end — a pretty important consideration for those all-night mixdown sessions that can really test your nerves.

What’s Up with the RCA Connectors?

Yes, it is a bit unconventional to put RCA sockets on a studio monitor — but why not? Now you can connect B1030A loudspeakers to your computer, mp3 player or television receiver for amazing sonic performance. For a truly versatile setup, use one of our USB audio interfaces (the UCA222, for example) to connect to/from your computer. This convenient setup allows you to monitor your recording projects, and mix and master them, directly from your computer. And you can place these speakers right next to your video monitor, thanks to B1030A’s internal magnetic shielding.

Hearing is Believing

We could bore you to tears with all the technical jargon (if you really like that stuff , there’s a special treat at the end), but hearing the TRUTH will make you a believer. From the “bulletproof” bass of its Kevlar woofer to the silky top-end of its HF dome tweeter, we think you’ll agree that nothing in this class outperforms the B1030A. Compare them to the competition and own BEHRINGER!

The HRmk2s surpass the legendary performance of Mackie's classic HRs to deliver even better sound quality, in a stunning new package. The precisely engineered contours of the cast aluminum Zero Edge Baffle™ minimize diffraction for a crystal clear image of your mix, and control sound waves so you get detailed lows, full, articulate mids, and shimmering highs—whether you’re on axis or off. Working in concert with the baffle’s contours, the unique passive radiator design delivers astonishing bass extension that’s super-tight and always distortion-free. Wide, even dispersion of all frequencies, as well as incredible depth of field, allow you to accurately hear your mix, transforming your studio’s sweet spot into a full-on sweet zone. And the high-gloss piano black wood cabinet not only looks hot, but adds just enough warmth so your sound is true, not sterile.

Mackie's HRmk2s were created with High Definition audio in mind—with such unbelievable sound quality, there’s little wonder why the HRmk2 Series was approved for THX pm3 compliance on its initial trial. THX pm3 Certification means that the HRmk2s have met the stringent standards set by THX Ltd.for outstanding performance, and that these monitors can be used with confidence by anyone seeking THX Certification for their studio, or striving to maintain THX standards.

The HR824mk2 and HR624mk2 high-resolution Active studio reference monitors represent the evolution of revolutionary thinking. Mackie's engineers, joined by audio gurus from EAW, worked hard to conceive of a way to preserve the all-important character of the original HR, while delivering performance—as well as appearance—that’s better than ever. And even moreso than the original HR824 and HR624, which were designed apart from each other, the HR824mk2 and HR624mk2 are part of the same family, true siblings in design and sound. Sharing the same engineering, they are created to work together, whether in surround systems, or as part of complementary monitoring setups in different sized rooms.
